Coats Machine Embroidery thread, Coats Cotton Machine Quilting Thread Materials • 8 ½”x 10 ½” gray for background, FreeSpirit Designer Essential solid CSFSESS.PEARL • 10”x 10” plum for leaves, Rowan Kaffe Fassett Shot Cotton, SC47 Grape • 2”x 8” green for stem, Rowan Kaffe Fassett Shot Cotton, SC56 Moss • Small scrap light green for berries, Rowan Kaffe Fassett Shot Cotton, SCSC95 Honeydew • Machine embroidery thread, colors 444 Olive, 278 Wine Grape • Dual Duty All Purpose thread, color 1840 Hot Pink • 8 ½”x 10 ½” stabilizer for applique • 10”x 10”, 2”x 8”, and small scrap lightweight Fusible webbing

Instructions 1. Trace the leaves on the paper side of the 10” square of fusible webbing. The pattern has already been reversed. Using the manufacturer’s instructions, fuse the webbing to the wrong side of the 10” square of plum fabric. Cut out leaves. 2. Trace the stem on the paper side of the 2”x 8” of fusible webbing. Fuse to the back of the green stem fabric. Cut out stem. 3. Trace 9 berries on the paper side of a scrap of fusible webbing. Fuse to the back side of the berry fabric. Cut out berries. 4. Arrange the stem, leaves, and berries on the gray background fabric as shown on the photo. Peel the paper from the back of each piece and using the manufacturer’s instructions, fuse the pieces to the background. 5. Put the stabilizer on the back of the background fabric. With machine embroidery thread, color 444, zig zag on the edges of the stem. Using the same thread, free motion circles on the berries. 6. With machine embroidery thread, color 278, edge stitch around all the leaf edges. 7. With the Dual Duty All Purpose thread, color 1840, free motion the veins in each of the leaves. 8. Remove stabilizer.
